BIOGRAPHY

Patrick McCraney

Over the course of 25 years in the legal profession, Patrick has developed a roster of real estate clients throughout the United States, including owners, syndicators, and developers in the areas of multifamily, seniors housing, single-family, office, industrial, and retail.

Patrick also works closely with start-up and emerging growth companies, providing both outside general counsel and board-level leadership to a number of organizations. In this capacity, Patrick frequently advises clients on corporate governance, lending and private equity transactions, strategic joint ventures, and intellectual property matters.

Patrick’s current practice is enriched by previous positions in both the legal and real estate fields, working early in his career as an associate with an international law and advisory firm, Butler Snow, and subsequently serving as Vice President and General Counsel for Cardinal Ventures, Inc., a private equity backed real estate development firm.   At Cardinal Ventures, Patrick provided strategic, principal-level support to the firm’s senior housing development projects throughout the Southeastern U.S. and continues to provide outside counsel to the firm and its property management subsidiary.

Patrick recently merged his law practice with Randall Segrest PLLC, which is a fitting reunion given that he, Paul Randall, and Andy Segrest previously worked together early in their careers in establishing a law firm and affiliated title insurance agency. These early working relationships led to Paul and Andy’s long-term partnership at Randall Segrest, which has been cultivated and maintained as a leading law firm in the region under their stewardship for over 20 years.

Although deeply committed to his practice with Randall Segrest, Patrick also pursues his passion for real estate development through a number of special projects and partnerships, including his ongoing affiliation (as Managing Director) with Iron Bridge Capital Partners, LLC, an investment firm based in Charleston, South Carolina. He also provides trustee and general counsel services to a family office located in Santa Barbara, California, that maintains real estate investments throughout the United States.

Patrick’s contributions to the bar and community include:  (a) appointment by the Mississippi Secretary of State to a statewide advisory committee for the State’s adoption of its Revised Limited Liability Company statutes; (b) past president of Jackson Young Lawyers; and (c) former board member of the Capital Area Bar Association. Patrick was also named to the inaugural class of the Mississippi bar’s leadership forum.

Patrick is a magna cum laude graduate (1997) of the University of Mississippi and earned his law degree (2000) from Washington and Lee University. Patrick and his wife, Courtney, are the proud parents of four children and attend Fondren Church in Jackson. When not working, Patrick’s primary personal interests include playing tennis, fishing, and traveling with his family.
